What to Know Before You Book
1What does “Kraft & Klasse” mean?
“Kraft” is the German word for strength or power, and “Klasse” represents class, precision, and refinement. Together, the name reflects the balance between performance and elegance that defines every vehicle and every experience we offer.
2How do you pronounce Kraft & Klasse?
Kraft is pronounced as it appears in English, and Klasse is pronounced “KLAH-suh.” The name honors its German roots while remaining approachable in everyday conversation.
3What is the difference between Grand Tour routes and Curated Route Experiences?
Grand Tour routes are designed for the driving enthusiast. These journeys showcase some of the finest roads in Texas — from the sweeping curves of Willow City Loop to the ridgelines of Devil’s Backbone — where elevation changes, long bends, and open stretches make the drive itself the main event. We provide recommended stops along the way, but the true focus is the rhythm of the road.
Curated Route Experiences are themed itineraries built around specific interests — wineries, breweries, shopping, barbecue, and more — where each stop becomes part of a thoughtfully designed day. While the roads remain scenic and enjoyable, the emphasis shifts toward the destinations and the overall experience along the route.
4How do bookings work?
All reservations are handled directly through Kraft & Klasse Grand Touring. After you submit an inquiry, we confirm availability, complete driver screening, execute the rental agreement, collect payment and security deposit, and coordinate delivery or pickup to ensure a seamless, private experience.
5What are the driver requirements?
Drivers must generally be at least 25 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record with no major violations within the past three to five years. All renters are subject to Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening and must complete our Driver Qualification Certification prior to approval.
6What insurance is required?
Renters must provide proof of full-coverage auto insurance that includes liability, comprehensive, and collision coverage with limits appropriate for high-value vehicles. Coverage is verified prior to release of the vehicle, and renters remain financially responsible as outlined in the rental agreement.
7Is a security deposit required?
Yes, a refundable security deposit is required prior to vehicle release. The deposit amount varies by vehicle and usage type and is returned following post-rental inspection, provided no damage, violations, or excess charges occurred.
8Do the cars have entertainment features?
Yes. Because radio reception in parts of the Hill Country can be limited, all of our vehicles include SiriusXM satellite radio along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility — so you can enjoy your own music, podcasts, or navigation seamlessly while you drive.
9Can the vehicle be delivered to my hotel, Airbnb, or airport?
Yes, concierge delivery is available to Fredericksburg properties, Hill Country resorts, private residences, Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Airport, and select regional airports by arrangement. Delivery fees vary based on distance and coordination requirements.
10Are there mileage limits?
Each rental includes a daily mileage allowance appropriate to the vehicle and booking type. Expanded mileage options are available for multi-day tours, and additional miles may be purchased in advance or billed following the rental period.
11What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are outlined within the rental agreement and vary depending on booking timeline and event type. Standard reservations may qualify for partial refunds if canceled in advance, while special event bookings may carry stricter terms.
12What happens if damage occurs during the rental?
If damage occurs, renters must notify us immediately and provide documentation of the incident. Claims are processed through the renter’s primary insurance policy, and the renter remains responsible for deductibles and any uncovered losses as defined in the rental agreement.
13What if there is a mechanical issue during my rental?
All vehicles are professionally maintained and inspected prior to delivery. If an unexpected mechanical issue arises, we provide direct support, coordinate roadside assistance when necessary, and work to resolve the situation promptly to protect your experience.
14Do you offer tours or only vehicle rentals?
We offer both vehicle-only rentals and curated driving experiences. Guests may choose self-guided Grand Tour routes, winery-focused itineraries, multi-day touring packages, or custom experiences tailored to their stay in the Texas Hill Country.
15Can the vehicle be used for weddings or special events?
Yes, our vehicles are frequently reserved for weddings, engagement photography, milestone celebrations, and luxury event arrivals. Event usage must be disclosed in advance to ensure proper coordination and appropriate agreement terms.
16Are smoking or pets allowed in the vehicles?
Smoking and pets are strictly prohibited in all vehicles. Unauthorized smoking or pet transport will result in cleaning or remediation fees.
17Can multiple drivers share the rental?
Additional drivers may be added to the rental agreement provided they meet all qualification requirements and complete the same screening process. Only approved drivers listed in the agreement may operate the vehicle.
18How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking two to four weeks in advance, particularly during peak Hill Country seasons such as spring wildflower season, summer weekends, fall harvest, and major wedding dates. Holiday and event weekends may book out significantly earlier.
19What happens during vehicle pickup or delivery?
At delivery or pickup, we conduct a detailed vehicle walkthrough, review operational features, document condition, and answer questions before releasing the keys. This ensures clarity and confidence before your drive begins.
20Do you restrict where the vehicle can be driven?
Vehicles must remain on paved public roads within approved geographic areas. Off-road use, track driving, racing, burnouts, and reckless driving are strictly prohibited. Our vehicles are intended for refined grand touring experiences.
21What fuel is required?
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as delivered and require premium fuel unless otherwise specified. Fuel requirements are reviewed during orientation.
22Are your vehicles owned and maintained by Kraft & Klasse?
Yes, our vehicles are privately owned and professionally maintained to strict standards. Each vehicle undergoes routine service, detailing, and inspection to ensure it performs and presents at the level our guests expect.
23Is Kraft & Klasse compliant with Texas rental vehicle laws?
Yes, Kraft & Klasse operates in compliance with Texas rental vehicle statutes. All rentals are governed by a written agreement, verified insurance requirements, and driver screening procedures designed to protect both the guest and the company.
24What makes Kraft & Klasse different from traditional rental companies?
Kraft & Klasse is a curated grand touring experience rather than a traditional rental counter. Each vehicle is intentionally selected for performance, presence, and emotion, and every booking includes access to scenic Hill Country route guidance and hospitality recommendations designed to elevate the drive itself.
25What is a Grand Tour experience?
A Grand Tour experience is built around the idea that the drive itself is the destination. It combines exceptional performance vehicles with the scenic roads of the Texas Hill Country, curated stops, and intentional pacing to create an experience that is immersive, memorable, and refined.
26Who is the typical Kraft & Klasse guest?
Our guests often include automotive enthusiasts, couples celebrating milestones, wedding parties, executives seeking a refined Hill Country experience, and travelers who value craftsmanship and memorable moments over ordinary transportation.
27What inspired the creation of Kraft & Klasse?
Kraft & Klasse was born from a lifelong passion for performance cars and the belief that certain roads deserve the right machine. The Texas Hill Country offers sweeping curves and natural beauty that invite grand touring, and this company was created to share that experience intentionally and properly.
